Sea Wolf Hostel · Local Florianópolis guide
the Magic Island.
40-plus beaches, trails that drop you into hidden paradises, surf all year round and an energy that turns travelers into locals. The full guide from the crew who actually lives here.
Why is Florianópolis
unlike anywhere else?
Floripa isn't just a good-looking city — it's an experience. You can paddle out in the morning, grab fresh seafood in a fishing village for lunch, hike a trail to an empty beach in the afternoon and close the day with a caipirinha in Lagoa da Conceição. All in one day. Very few places on earth let you do that.
With more than 40 beaches that all have wildly different personalities — from the buzz of Jurerê to the wild isolation of Lagoinha do Leste — Floripa has the right spot for any kind of traveler: adventurer, family, couple, digital nomad or surfer chasing the best waves in southern Brazil.
The Magic Island is also one of the best places to live in Brazil — safe, beautiful and packed with a buzzing global community. That's why so many people come for a week and never quite make it home.
Floripa is good
all year round.
Summer
Packed beaches, parties, full-on energy and serious heat. Prices climb — book early. Made for anyone who wants the buzz and warm nights out in Lagoa.
Autumn
Quieter beaches, prices dropping, waves getting better. Still warm and easy. The Floripa locals love — without the crowds.
Winter
The best waves of the year roll in with the south swells. Empty beaches, fresh trails and low prices. The favorite season for anyone who lives in Floripa.
Spring
Perfect weather, waves still firing, beaches waking up without packing out. Ideal for catching it all without the summer rush. The Lobitos' favorite.
Pick your beach
by your vibe.

Barra da Lagoa
A fishing village with consistent waves, perfect for beginners and intermediates. Paddle out, grab seafood, paddle out again.
🤙 Home of the Sea Wolf Surf School
Campeche
5 km of white sand with waves for every level and Ilha do Campeche out on the horizon. Wild, low-key and village-quiet.
🤙 Sea Wolf unit right on the sand
Joaquina
Floripa's most iconic spot — barreling waves, a stage for world-tour events and giant dunes for sandboarding.
⚠️ Not for beginners
Praia Mole
Fast waves, a young easy-going crowd and a gorgeous backdrop of green hills. One of the busiest beaches on the island.

Lagoinha do Leste
Many call it the most beautiful beach on the island. The only way in is a 2-hour trail — which is exactly why it stays untouched. Freshwater lagoon and perfect nature.
🥾 Moderate trail · 8 km round trip
Lagoa da Conceição
The heart of the island — kitesurf, windsurf, SUP, restaurants, bars and the best nightlife in town all around it.
🍹 Sea Wolf Lagoa — pool, bar and good times🏖️ More beaches worth the trip
Nature reserve with ancient rock carvings and crystal-clear water. Boat only.
The far south, a historic lighthouse and that end-of-the-world feeling. Trail or boat only.
The glossiest of them all — beach clubs, international parties and calm water.
Historic Azorean village and Floripa's oyster capital. Outstanding food.
The best trails
on the Magic Island.
Lagoinha do Leste
The most rewarding hike in Floripa. It lands you on an isolated beach with a freshwater lagoon, waves and untouched nature. One of the best days of your life.
Costa da Lagoa
Along the lagoon shore to a hidden waterfall, past floating restaurants you can only reach by boat or on foot. Lagoon views the whole way.
Morro da Lagoa (Lookout)
A steep climb to a 360º view over the Lagoa, Praia Mole and Galheta. One of the most photographed views in Floripa and the launch point for paragliders.
Naufragados
The way in to the southernmost beach on the island — historic lighthouse, old cannons and that end-of-the-world feeling. Easy for everyone, and a serious payoff when you arrive.
Matadeiro
Starting from Armação, you cross a shallow river and land on a rustic, wild beach. Great for surfers and anyone chasing quiet without much effort.
Morro das Aranhas
Starts at Santinho, with rock carvings along the way and a panoramic view over the north of the island from the top. Historic and seriously good-looking.
Things to do

Eating your way
through Florianópolis.
Shrimp, squid, octopus and fish caught that same day — at the restaurants right on the canal. The seafood sequência is a must-do ritual.
Ribeirão is the oyster capital of Brazil. Eating them at the source, the same day they're harvested, is a whole experience of its own.
Dozens of bars and restaurants along the shore. From low-key spots with a caipirinha by the water to polished restaurants — one of the best scenes in the south.
Reachable only by boat or on the trail — rustic, family-run and serving Azorean cooking in a setting you won't find anywhere else.
